WHAT ARE SILLY BANDZ?

... Silly Bandz are these special type of rubber bands that have the ability to take the form of any animal, letters and numbers, shape, or any other object.  They can be worn as bracelets, rings, or even hair ties and will always return back to its original shape.

 HOW DID THEY BECOME POPULAR?

... Silly Bandz were first created in 2008 by a guy named Robert Croak who began to sell them online, usually in individual packs based on a certain theme. They grew in popularity by 2010 and many knock-off brands were created. 

People all over the world started having their own collections of these colourful bands. They have become so popular that schools have even started to ban them because of how distracting they are for kids. They would become more focused on building their collection and trading with friends. This trend soon came to an end by the end of 2010.

Memes have been around for a very long time. Before the Internet, they were often found in newspapers, comic books or magazines.

Neon initially became popular in the mid 1980's but has since made a comeback by the 2010s.
